Few rugby followers in Scotland will be aware that a Scotland internationalist captained South Africa against the British Isles, now known as The British & Irish Lions. Even fewer will be aware that this man hailed from Ayrshire.

A little KRFC history...

Kilmarnock Rugby Football Club was founded in 1868. One of the oldest Rugby Union clubs in Scotland, Kilmarnock Football Club owes its existence to KRFC as an internal dispute about which football rules to adopt resulted in a breakaway in early 1869 by those more willing to play Association Football. Kilmarnock Rugby Club joined the Scottish Rugby Union in 1912. Kilmarnock turns out 12 teams most weekends, they have teams at Primary 4,5,6,7, Secondary 1,2 under 15s,16s,18s 3rd/development team, 2nd XV and 1st XV.
